It's a good plane and flies nice.

This is a great little plane, I am totally happy with my purchase. I am intermediate level pilot and usually fly larger, more complex planes, but I liked the idea of having something small, cute and easy to transport.

PROS: Very easy assembly, good build quality. With the gyro stabilization on, it really flies very well, easy to handle and no bad habits. It can be flown fast or slow. The gyro is very well coordinated and it does not create any oscillations. Another good thing is that the gyro can be switched on or off.

I have been using 800 mAH, 2S batteries and with that I can easily get 15 min flight duration at intermediate power levels. I would not bother using the small 300 mAH battery. It actually flies better with the extra weight and of course longer flight time. I plan on using an 1100 mAH battery next.

I did switch out the original very small wheels and put on 2 1/4 wheels because I fly on a dirt field. It does very well with the larger wheels.

CONS: With the gyro off, it is very squirley, the stick rates are set too high and there is no easy way to reduce them, even mechanically. Even the smallest aileron deflection makes it roll very fast and it wants to loose altitude quickly, you have to apply up elevator with every turn, even mild bank angles and the elevator is too sensitive too. So, make sure you have it high altitude before you start experimenting turning the gyro off. As soon, you feel you may be in trouble, just turn on the gyro and it will correct itself very quickly.

Overall, I really like the plane, it is fun, it would be appropriate for a beginner (with gyro on), and for more experiences pilots, you can do all kinds of aerobatics with the gyro off.

This is Great plane to get started with , coming from flying drones i was able to adapt pretty quick with this thing , on small crashes the place blows apart but pops right back together . I would recommend to program to a better transmitter since the one it comes with has a bunch of dead spots .

I have bought this plane about 2 years ago I’ve had quite a few airplanes this was my favorite airplane by far I would not recommend it is for beginners however if you have a little experience you should have no problem flying the airplane for the price it’s not bad It is one of the most durable planes I have ever flown the wings pop off when you crash it which will save your wings from cracking you can put it back in the box and take it anywhere very convenient I am getting ready to buy me another one because I have wore the other one out all the electronics Wings and etc. still work fine motor burnt out a while back I had trouble finding one matter of fact I never could find a motor I rigged a different motor up into it and it flies but not as good as the original I definitely recommend this plane if you have some experience in flying RC planes you will enjoy this plane

I ordered this after watching the video. it is easy to fly right out of the box. and as advertised, it takes a beating. i wish i didn't have to take the prop and spinner off in order to put it back in the box. overall, a pretty good plane for the money.

Die S720 von OMPHOBBY ist mein erstes Flugzeug. Ich habe bereits Erfahrung mit RC Helis aber wollte mal ohne große Kosten und Risiko in den Modellflug mit Tragflächen einsteigen. Dafür ist die S720 an sich sehr gut geeignet, wenn man ein paar Dinge beachtet.
Was für eine Anfängerfreundlichkeit spricht ist der Gyro, der das Flugzeug im Modus Normal absolut stabil hält. Das funktioniert erstaunlich gut. Das Flugzeug erlaubt in diesem Modus keine zu starken Manöver (kein Rollen, kein invertiertes Fliegen, kein zu krasses hoch oder runterziehen) und es hält sich von selbst gerade in der Luft, auch wenn man vom Gas geht. Diesen Modus kann man jederzeit auf der Fernbedienung abschalten (Expert Modus). Davon ist bei Wind und am Anfang absolut abzuraten.
Ein weiterer extremer Pluspunkt ist die Steckmontage der Flügel und Heckflosse (Höhenruder). Diese Steckmontage sorgt dafür, dass sich diese Teile bei Crashes in einen Baum oder Gestrüpp sofort lösen und man erst meinen würde, mist jetzt ist es kaputt. Aber dann steckt man alles wieder ein und weiter geht's ohne Probleme. Natürlich muss man unbedingt sofort vom Gas gehen wenn man merkt man wird crashen.
Und der dritte Punkt ist noch hoch zu loben, das Flugzeug reagiert sehr intelligent in dem Fall, das man außerhalb der Funkreichweite gerät oder die Fernbedienung abschaltet. Dann geht der Rotor sofort aus und die Heckflosse (Seitenruder) dreht nach links um das Flugzeug kreisend runtersegeln zu lassen. Somit bleibt es ziemlich sicher heil, wenn es nicht im See oder auf einem Dach landet wo es verloren wäre.

Warum ist es nun eventuell doch für Anfänger nicht so gut geeignet bzw. was muss beachtet werden?

1.) Power und Höhenruder

Der Motor hat enorm Schub und man muss daran denken sofort Gas wegzunehmen nach dem Start, weil man ja zum abheben viel Schub benötigt, aber beim Fliegen vergisst man zunächst den wieder wegzunehmen weil man panisch versucht die Maschine zu kontrollieren.
Das Höhenruder ist derart sensibel, dass die Maschine nach dem abheben sofort gegensteuert (Gyro) weil der Pilot zu stark steigen will. Das führt dann zu einer Auf-Ab-Bewegung die zunächst suggeriert dass etwas nicht stimmt. Dann am besten das Höhenruder kurz loslassen bis die Maschine gerade fliegt.
Am Anfang ist das sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig aber es hilft wenn man genügend Platz hat und den Schub reduziert (ggf. auch auf 0).

2.) Platzbedarf

Wie schon erwähnt, unterschätzt man den Platz den man zum fliegen braucht, da das Flugzeug einerseits sehr schnell wird und andererseits extrem sensibel auf Eingaben reagiert (insb. Höhenruder). Man braucht zum Abheben vom Boden außerdem ein Stück Asphalt oder sehr kurzen Rasen und danach eine Wiese auf der man Landen kann oder auch mal einen Absturz gut übersteht.

3.) Akku

Der Akku hält ca. 10 Minuten, was ok ist und man kann auch größere Akkus kaufen und einsetzen. Man weiß aber leider nicht, wie es mit dem Ladestand ist. Also wenn der Akku leer wird, merkt man das erst wenn man plötzlich den Schub verliert (Gyro und Steuerung bleiben aber erhalten). Wenn man in diesem Moment über einem Dach oder See wäre, ist die Maschine futsch.

Fazit:

Das Flugzeug macht enorm Spaß (Suchtfaktor) und ist auch für Anfänger geeignet. Selbst wenn es kaputt oder verloren ginge sind die Kosten nicht dramatisch. Durch den Gyro ist es sogar bei Wind und für Anfänger gut zu kontrollieren wenn man sich an das sensible Höhenruder und das Gegensteuern durch den Gyro gewöhnt hat. Im Expertenmodus, nach etwas Lernkurve kann man extrem wendige und spektakuläre Manöver fliegen und lange Freude daran haben weil es sehr gutmütig auf Stürze reagiert.

Ich kann es absolut empfehlen wenn man eine geeignete, sehr große Flugfläche zur Verfügung hat.
